Cameo for Carla was written for the ‘Help Carla’ concert – Carla Rees tragically lost her home and belongings to fire in the London riots of 2011. The work forms part of a larger collection of miniatures by other composers titled for Carla that were written around a sequence of notes derived from Carla’s name and her ensemble RARESCALE (an anagram of Carla Rees).
