Notes:
Sprite was completed in November 1998 and is dedicated to the composer’s then six-month-old nephew. The piece portrays the playful and agile nature of a mythical sprite: qualities that he associated with his wonderfully animated nephew
The premiere was given by Lewis Mitchell (piccolo) at the British Music Information Centre, London, on the 1st December 1998.
